The ceremony was a ploy concocted by James and Connor so that Sheila could
be proved an unfit mother, hoping that would lead to courts granting James custody of daughter Mary.

Sheila wore James' motherīs wedding dress, with his father Damonīs blessing.
In real life, it was designed by B&Bīs wardrobe department, and they used antique fabric, which they tea stained to make it look older.
Connor was best man, and Sheilaīs mother Molly was maid of honor. James and Connorīs plan failed, and James had to go through with the ceremony.
The Deceit...
At their wedding night hotel room, Mike showed up and told Sheila the truth
about why James married her. Sheila went ballistic, and James found her on the roof. He tried everything, but could not prevent her from
throwing herself off the rooftop, and she was taken to hospital in a very critical condition. James then realized he actually had deep
feelings for the mother of his child.
Behind the Scenes...
For the scenes where Sheila jumped off the roof, Kimberlin needed
a stunt double, and that also meant making an exact replica of the dress, with almost no fabric left, but they managed! The scenes were filmed
on the roof of the CBS building.
