Station history
- In June 1993 Radio Camouflage was founded by Peter McClench, and the first program ever was aired via Radio Pirana on 1509 kHz the 10th of July 1993. Address was via DPRS in UK.
In total was 13 reports received
- Next program to be aired was in January 1996 via a US-relay on 6955 kHz LSB. This time with Jolly Jake as co-DJ to Peter. In total was about 10 reports received.
- In 1998, DJ John Sandy joined the Camouflage crew and Radio Camouflage did their first programme on 48 metres. In total there was three programs going out, the 12th of July, the 20th and 27th of September. All via Radio Pandora. We received 12 letters.
- In 1999 there were not much activity. John and Peter had different ideas and it all ended up with that Peter quit Radio Camouflage and left everything over to John Sandy. The 12th of December 1999, WRCR was heard for the very first time. WRCR is a compressed form of ”We are Camouflage Radio”. A second show, i.e. Christmas show was also aired the 25th of December. Totally we received five letters during 1999.
Station idea
There are no actuall idea behind WRCR or Camouflage, and there have never been. Just to have fun is the line to follow. During 30 minutes there should be some good relaxing music mixed from the last 40 decades. WRCR has also an old 40 Watts transmitter that will be used some day.
